1.2 - Yoga is the cessation of movements in the consciousness.
1.3 - Then the Seer (Self) abides in His Own True Splendor.
1.4 - At other times, the Seer identifies with the mental fluctuations.
1.12 - These fluctuations of consciousness are stilled by practice and non-attachment (renunciation).
1.13 - Practice is the steadfast effort to still these fluctuations.
1.14 - Practice becomes firmly grounded when well attended for a long time, without break and in all earnestness.
1.15 - Detachment from desires for things seen and heard is the practice of non-attachment (renunciation).
1.16 - The ultimate renunciation is when all desires cease and one remains indifferent to the gunus (qualities of nature) and firmly abides as the true Self.
